Tuna Fusilli in a Tasty Tomato Sauce

Most kids love pasta and this easy to make Tuna Fish Fusilli dish will not disappoint. Made with fresh ingredients it is a tasty and healthy option including the excellent source of Omega 3 fatty acids contained in the Tuna.

Recipe Saved


2 tbsp olive oil
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 red onions, chopped
1 x 400g tin chopped tomatoes
2 fresh tomatoes, roughly chopped
1 tbsp tomato purée
1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
1 x 200g can tuna in oil, drained
2 tsp good quality balsamic vinegar
50g Parmesan or Cheddar cheese, grated (omit for a dairy-free version)
200g fusilli


  1. Heat the oil in a wok or large frying pan. Add the onions and fry until soft. Add the garlic and fry for a few seconds. Add the tinned tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, cook the tagliatelle according to the packet instructions and drain.
  3. Add the tomato purée, fresh tomatoes and herbs to the cooked tomatoes. Simmer for a few minutes. Add the tuna and balsamic vinegar and stir in the grated cheese if using.
  4. Mix the tagliatelle with the tuna and tomato sauce.
