Sea bass with Ginger & Spring Onion

This Sea bass with Ginger & Spring Onion recipe is a very simple but delicious way of serving sea bass fillets. Ginger can help with morning sickness.

4 small sea bass fillets, skin on
2 tbsp sunflower oil
2 cm root ginger cut into thin strips
2 garlic cloves, finely sliced
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp mirin
½ tsp honey
1 bunch spring onions shredded
Salt and pepper


  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large frying pan and fry the fish skin side down for 3 to 4 minutes  until the skin is crispy.
  2. Turn and fry on the other side for 1 minute .
  3. Take out and keep warm.
  4. Heat the remaining oil and fry the ginger and garlic for 1 minute.
  5. Mix together the soy sauce, mirin and honey.
  6. Return the fish to the pan, spoon over the sauce, sprinkle with the spring onions and heat through.
