Salmon In Tomato Sauce With Baby Pasta

It is important to include oily fish like salmon in your baby’s diet as it contains essential fatty acids that are vital for brain and visual development. The carrot, tomato, apple and Parmesan will encourage little ones to give fish a try if they weren’t too sure before.

Recipe Saved


1 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
1 small carrot, peeled and grated
½ an eating apple, peeled and grated
1 clove garlic, crushed
250ml passata
40g baby pasta shells
100g cooked salmon fillet, all bones removed and flaked
1 tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated (or dairy-free alternative)


  1. Heat the oil in a pan. Add the onion, carrot and apple and fry for 3–4 minutes. Add the garlic and fry for 30 seconds.
  2. Add the passata. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Cook the pasta according to the packet instructions. Drain.
  4. Stir the drained pasta into the sauce with the flaked salmon and cheese. If you prefer you can blend the sauce, then mix with the pasta and flaked salmon.
