Raisin Bread French Toast

This Raisin Bread French Toast makes a deliciously festive Christmas morning breakfast! Layer up the bread into a Christmas tree shape and sprinkle with icing sugar & berries for bonus festivity points!

This is an exclusive recipe from my children’s cookbook: Fun, Fast & Easy.


1 egg
1 sliced raisin bread, cut into 3 fingers
a knob of butter
or splash of sunflower oil


  1. Crack the egg into a shallow bowl. Beat with a fork to mix the yolk into the white.
  2. Dip the raisin bread fingers into the egg so that they are coated completely. Leave them to soak until all the egg has been absorbed.
  3.  Meanwhile, melt the butter or heat the oil in a small frying pan over a medium heat.
  4. Add the fingers to the pan and fry for 2 minutes
    on each side, until golden.
  5. Serve with berries.
