Nut-Free Energy Balls

 These no-bake energy balls are nut-free, gluten-free, and dairy-free. They are a great lunch box snack for kids or grown-ups.


125g pitted soft dates, chopped
100mls boiling water
50g desiccated coconut
20g cocoa powder
40g pumpkin seeds
20g sunflower seeds
50g raisins
3 tbsp maple syrup


  1. Put the dates into a bowl. Add the boiling water and soak for 10 minutes.
  2. Drain the dates (reserve the liquid) and place the dates into a processor.
  3. Blend until smooth. Add the remaining ingredients including the reserved liquid.
  4. Process until finely chopped. Roll into balls and coat in extra cocoa and coconut.
  5. Chill for 1 hour.
