French Toast with Berries

French toast with fruit makes for a tasty breakfast for your little ones. Blueberries contain more antioxidants than any other fruits due to the blue pigment in their skin.


1 egg
1 tbsp milk
2 tsp icing sugar (optional)
1 A good pinch of cinnamon
2 slices of bread, crusts removed
1 A knob of unsalted butter
1 handfuls Raspberries and blueberries to serve
Greek yoghurt (optional)


  1. Mix together the egg, milk, icing sugar (optional) and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Cut each slice of bread into fingers or, if you wish, use cookie cutters to make fun shapes. Dip the bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
  2. Melt the butter in a frying pan, then fry the bread for about 5 minutes, turning halfway through until golden brown and slightly fluffy.
  3. Serve with the berries and a dusting of icing sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Serve with a spoonful of yoghurt if serving as part of breakfast for 9-12 month olds.
