Cupid’s Arrows

Shoot these delicious arrows onto your loved one’s plate and they will be swooning with delight.


2 tbsp natural yoghurt
100ml (3 1/2 fl oz) milk
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp fresh thyme leaves or 1/4 tsp dried
1/4 tsp mild paprika
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/4 tsp salt

340g (12oz) skinless, boneless chicken breast, cut into approx. 2 cm cubes
2 red peppers

4 tbsp tomato ketchup
4 tbsp mayonnise
1 tsp sweet chilli sauce
1/2 tsp clear honey

You will also need 8 wooden skewers, soaked in water for at least 30 minutes


  1. Whisk the marinade ingredients together in a bowl along with a good grinding of black pepper. Add the chicken and stir to coat, then cover and marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Cut each pepper into quarters and remove the seeds. Cut a large HEART or triangle from each quarter to act as the arrowhead. Put on a plate, cover with clingfilm and refrigerate until needed. Stir together the ingredients for the dip, cover and refrigerate until needed.
  3. Preheat the grill to high. Thread the chicken onto the skewers, leaving a space at the top of each skewer. Season the chicken with a little salt and pepper and grill for 4-5 minutes, until half cooked. Turn the skewers over and thread a red pepper triangle onto the top of each skewer. Grill for a further 4-5 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the pepper is soft.
  4. Transfer the dip to small bowls and serve with the skewers.
