Chocolate Pear Pudding

Get ready for national chocolate cake day with this indulgent chocolatey pudding. Is my pear-sonal  favourite!

75g self-raising flour
25g cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
75g caster sugar
75g margarine
2 large eggs
50g plain chocolate, melted
300g tinned pears, drained and chopped


  1. Preheat the oven to 200 C. Lightly grease a large tin foil with sunflower oil.
  2. Measure the flour, cocoa, baking powder, caster sugar, margarine and eggs together in a bowl. Add the melted chocolate and whisk together until light and fluffy. Spread into the base of the tin.
  3. Put the pears in top in an even layer. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes until well risen and firm in the centre.
