I always prepare the same food for the whole family, I want to encourage the babies to eat the same as us. My favourite meal is any kind of pasta dish really because that’s what my mum used to make me. There’s one with tomato sauce, pancetta, onion and parmesan cheese that we all love.
Doughnuts!
I had porridge with dates, raisins, cinnamon and almond milk, which is my go to breakfast. Alessia had Weetabix with honey and warm milk, her favourite!
That’s a difficult one… but I would have to choose family. My granny because she’s quite elderly and lives in Ireland, so I don’t get to see her much anymore. My two brothers, one of which lives in America and the other in France. All the family members that live far away and I don’t get to have many meals with anymore.
For Alessia, my 18 month old, it’s toy babies at the moment, she loves taking care of them! For Andrea, my 5 Month old, it’s me. He’s just at that age where he loves me and Jonathan so much, it’s really cute.
It was from my old GP in Ireland after I had Emilia, my first. He said ‘I shouldn’t listen to any unsolicited advice and that a mothers instinct is always right for their baby’. I’ve followed this ever since!
It was this little soft musical toy for Emilia. You’d pull the string on it and it would play lullaby music, it really helped get her to sleep. Everyone of my babies has been soothed by different objects but I really remember that toy!
Trust your gut instinct, it’s a really important motto to live by I think and for later in life, nobody knows your baby better than you do.
It’s quite hard because all my kids were quite different as babies but for Emilia and Andrea is was definitely the Babymoov swing, Emilia loved the motion of it and whenever I put Andrea in it at the moment, he’s really happy! The Tripp Trapp chairs are a winner for all of the kids, they’ll grow with them and then they can keep them forever, which is really cool.
It’s Spaghetti with prawns and chorizo, the recipe looks so good. The kids will have that too!
Pancakes are the kids Sunday treat, so we always start our day with them. We’ve moved house recently so Emilia and Eduardo are loving exploring the garden with Jonathan. I usually do some baking with Alessia, she’s my little sous chef and just loves getting involved. I always meal plan for the next week on Sunday as well, the truth of being a mother of 4!
Ooh Tricky.. being half Italian I would have to choose some sort of pasta dish, I feel like I could be sneaky and change it around a bit as well, so I don’t get bored of it. Or doughnuts! Could I just choose doughnuts?
Alessia would definitely choose tuna and sweetcorn sandwiches, she can’t get enough of them.
Next up, we’re in the kitchen with Vogue Williams.
