You are in safe hands when giving birth and the following may be involved in bringing your baby into the big wide world:
Obstetrician; pregnant women are their speciality – and labour and delivery too. Just the sort of safe pair of hands you’ll be wanting around on the big day of birth.
Anaesthetist; your pain control person who will be around to keep you comfortable.
Midwife; the baby specialist! They work closely with Obstetricians to care for your baby and you.
Paediatrician; the baby and infant doctor, they won’t be so interested in you but they will keep a close eye on baby.
Partner; in most scenarios you will be able to have your partner or chosen support buddy with you during the birth.
