Papaya Puree Recipe
|
|
Papaya contains papain, an enzyme that breaks down protein and so boosts the digestion, as well as improving indigestion. It is rich in vitamin C and betacarotene. 75g (3 oz) of papaya will provide a young child’s daily requirement of vitamin C. Papaya is also high in soluble fibre which is important for normal bowel function and an ideal ingredient for baby food recipes.
Ingredients1 small papaya
MethodCut a small papaya in half, remove the black seeds and puree or mash the flesh of one half until smooth.

I recommend this recipe for sure. My son was constipating for few days. Once i gave him some papaya it wasnt long until the digestion kicked in and there were plenty of dirty nappies to follow. Besides he loves the sweet taste. Ive never had papaya before and now its a permanent 'must-have' in our fruit bowl for the whole family.

I've given papaya to my daughter since she was 7 mo. old. She enjoys the variety of fruits she's tried (apple, banana, pear, avocado) including papaya. I like papaya because of it's sweet, mild flavor. It's great to mix with pears or applesauce!

I would not recommend this for a baby as a part of weaning process. it can be dangerous. My baby girl of 8 months old has been sick since she had a papaya puree. It is very dangerous.
