Vitamins A and C are good for boosting the immune system, and so is zinc. This  smoothie contains a combination of fruits high in vitamins C and A and yoghurt which is a good source of zinc.  I like to use watermelon but you can also use canteloupe if it is in season and nice and ripe. For a thicker smoothie you can freeze the strawberries overnight

Ingredients

110g/4oz strawberries (3 large or 5 medium), hulled and quartered
1 thin slice of watermelon or canteloupe, seeds and rind removed and flesh cubed (100g)
1/2 small banana
3 tbsp strawberry yoghurt
2 tbsp orange juice
1 tsp honey
 

Method:

Put the fruit in a blender and whiz to a puree. Add the remaining ingredients and whiz to combine. Pour into glasses to serve. 

Information:
Preparation – 5 minutes
Makes 2 child portions
