Try this making finger foods for infants. One of my favourite finger foods for infants is Chicken Sliders. The red onion and tomato chutney give these mini chicken rissoles a delicious flavour. They make perfect finger food for infants.

You can make this using chicken breast, chicken thigh or minced chicken.

It’s good to make this using the white and dark meat of the chicken. The dark meat contains twice as much chicken as the breast.

Ingredients

3 slices white bread, crusts removed
4 tbsp milk
1 tbsp olive oil
1 red onion (approx 125g) chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
250g chicken
2 tsp soy sauce
3 tbsp tomato chutney
1 tsp tomato puree
2 tbsp sunflower oil

Method:

Put the bread in a food processor to make breadcrumbs.  Add the milk and leave to soak.

Meanwhile, sauté the onion for 5 minutes in the olive oil until softened.  Add the garlic and cook for a further minute.

Combine all the ingredients together. Season to taste. Chop for about a minute in a food processor.

Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Drop the mixture by tablespoons into the pan. Press down slightly using a wet teaspoon.

Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until golden and cooked through.

hi

making chicken sliders tonight and was wondering if they can be frozen?

For the Tomato Chutney I substituted 1tsp brown and 1tsp tomato sauce with a teaspoon of tomato salsa, I also didn't use minced chicken as I just added the whole chicken breast into the blender.

Took about 2 mins each side to cook, after realising minced chicken takes far less time to cook.

My two children, 4 and 21 months ate all, my husband devoured the rest so I was unable to freeze any .....

Hi Anna, what can i substitute tomato chutney with?

My 16 month old loves these. I find that if I omit the milk, they are robust enough for finger food. If I use the milk, then they are soggier and more suited to a table meal. EIther way, they taste great. Good with sweetcorn on the side!

Have been looking at this website since expecting a first Grandchild. Made these with my lovely inherited grandaughter who is 11 and we had great fun making them. She said they tasted yummy. They certainly smelt nice. I didnt try as I am vegetarian. I would never buy chicken nuggets after making these. We made bigger ones as she is an older child.

I have an extremely fussy 2 year old that doesn't like to try anything new but she absolutely loved these. Very easy to make too, I highly recommend them!

I have an extremely fussy 2 year old and it's usually a fight to get her to try anything new at all but she absolutely loved these. Very simple to make and cook, would definately recommend them!

Hello :)
I was just wondering at what age can i start to give these sort of finger foods for my baby?

I found them easy to make but hard to tell when they were cooked as they stay soft and the tomato puree makes them quite pink.

I love making Annabel's recipies for my baby girl - I have made her food from the moment I weaned her at 5 months - she loves her homemade food so much she wouldn't even eat jarred food when we had an emergency! Annabel's recipies are so tasty - I even base the Spag Bol I make around her recipie now too its so nice! They all freeze really well too which is really important for making batches. Hope this one is as enjoyable - making it tonight!

I have recently purchased Annabel Karmels book Feeding your baby and toddler and oh my god its fabulous. Easy quick meals that not only my daughter enjoys but I can too! I hated cooking in the past until I had my daughter, now I love it.
