Braised Beef Recipe Ingredients

1 leek washed and sliced
1 ¼ tablespoons butter
4 oz braidsing steak or lamb, cut into cubes
2 tablespoons flour
2 ½ cups sweet potato, peeled and chopped
1 ¼ cups chicken broth
juice of 1 orange (about ½ cup)

  

Braised Beef Recipe Method:

Melt the butter or margarine in a flameproof casserole and sauté the leek for about 4 minutes until softened.

Roll the meat in the flour; add to the leek and sauté until browned. Add the mushrooms and sauté for 1 minute.

Add the sweet potato, stock and orange juice.

Bring to the boil and transfer to an oven preheated to 180C/350F/Gas 4 for 1 ½ hours or until the meat is tender.

Blend to the desired consistency using as much of the cooking liquid as necessary.

this is the most beautiful dish and so easy to make, my husband thought it was our dinner! I made this as my daughters first into to beef and she gobbled it up! She has not once refused it, I recommend it highly.
