Annabel has developed a new and exciting healthy children’s menu for food services.
Annabel’s menu complies with government guidelines for salt levels for children and nutritional targets. All recipes are made with fresh ingredients where possible, including chicken, quality Irish beef, Italian pastas, West country dairy produce, herbs and fresh vegetables; and of course are tried and tested on children.
Bespoke menus can be developed for larger volume restaurants and eateries.
Annabel’s children’s menu is currently available at Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventure, Butlins and Haven Holiday sites.

Guidance for Foodservice Children’s Meals
A main meal for a child should provide about 30% of their requirement or Guideline Daily Amount (GDA).
To achieve this a main course should not provide more than 30% of GDA for the following key nutrients per serving. Annabel Karmel use this as a guide and target, when creating recipe dishes for children:
| Nutrient |
GDA (Children 5-10years) |
25% of GDA target |
Absolute maximum 30%GDA |

No more than one nutrient can be above the 30% target and then must be below the absolute maximum of 30% of GDA per serving
Fruit & Vegetables:
- To enable customers to make a vegetable or fruit claim, Annabel Karmel will endeavour to include 30-60g per serving
- They may use ‘hidden’ ingredients such as mirepoix or purees to achieve this
No added claims:
- No added sugar in any main course
- No artificial colours
- No artificial flavouring or flavour enhancers
- No nuts to be used in any dishes
Ideally to be made such that nut warnings are not required for ‘may contain’
NB meeting these standards will not necessarily allow for nutrition claims.
