Childcare Choices

Becoming a parent for the first time is always a daunting experience and many parents-to-be often worry about how much of a life changing experience it will be and how they will cope with their new arrival.

The reality is that becoming a parent is a natural, albeit tiring, experience for most mums and it is never too early to start looking for childcare help even before the birth of your baby.

A range of childcare options, to make life a little easier for you, are available from the moment you give birth.

Some of the childcare options available include:

Maternity Nurses- will usually provide daytime help and support during the first few days and weeks after birth.

Night Nannies - typically work from around 9pm until 7am and will provide care for your baby during the night allowing you to get some well deserved uninterrupted rest.

Nannies - Full time and part time nannies either live-in or live-out of your home and can provide care as and when agreed.

Nurseries - provide day care from specialist premises and usually take children on a full or part time basis from around 6 weeks of age.

Registered
Childminders -
provide care in the childminder's own home and are an excellent alternative to nurseries if you require day care.

Babysitters - Even if you don't require regular care then you could always consider finding a babysitter to give you a few hours rest every now and then and a well earned evening out.
