To begin with your baby needs to feed little and often and may need to feed as frequently as every one or two hours and will drink about 50ml (1 to 2 fl oz). By two or three weeks your baby may settle into a pattern of three hours between feeds and may take about 100ml (3½ fl oz). When you make up a bottle, make up about 30ml (1 fl oz) more than your baby usually drinks. When she starts taking all the milk in the bottle, increase the amount of milk by a further 30ml (1 fl oz). Eventually your baby will take a full 8 fl oz bottle. |
