MASTERED SKILLS - most babies can:
• Crawl backwards and forwards and may also be able to turn around
• Stand while holding onto something but not yet able to let go and sit down again
• Uses two syllable words like ‘Mama’ and ‘Dada’ and makes up her own words for familiar people or things like ‘Oom-pah’ for Grandpa.

EMERGING SKILLS - may be able to:
• Climb upstairs but may not be able to climb down again
• Cruise while holding onto furniture
• Put objects in a container and remove them
• Use pincer grip to pick up small objects like raisins or peas
• Memory is improving – if you hide a toy under a bucket she will remember it is there
• Begins to understand the word ‘no’.

ADVANCED SKILLS - a few babies can:
• Place stacking rings on a spindle
• Has more coordinated hand movements and may be able to build a tower of two bricks
• Play ball and roll a ball back to you
• Understand simple instructions with gestures.
