i made this tonight, it makes a lot of soup and is very spicy when i tasted it, me and df are going to try it tomorrow , we love spicy food, i dont think my 2 yr old willl like it though as its a bit too spicy for her i used a medium red chilli out of a pack from asda, it all ends in tears when i make food with chillis in unfortunately.

Hmm wonder why mine wasn't that spicy then? Maybe I had a mild chilli? I've got to make it again tomorrow as having bro and SIL round for dinner and thought it would be a nice starter. I've got a fresh pack of chillies so might just use half of one and see how it tastes xx

it could be the chilli being medium thats all , i may try it with a pinch of mild chilli powder next time.
just to add ive just had it for lunch and the spices seemed to have settled down, and was really tasty , i tried to get my dd to eat it but she wasnt having it, so i will diffenetly try milder chilli init next time, thanks for that recipe x Last edited by carys23 : 23-01-08 at 15:27. |

I made loads this morning to freeze but without the chilli. I gave some to the chaps putting our fence up (felt sorry for them working in snow) and they asked me where it from - they didn't believe I'd made it.
One of them asked me for the recipe and has taken it home to his girlfriend lol. I think I prefer it without the chilli as you can really taste the cumin xx |
