This was delicious Ellie

I didn't have any broccoli so skipped that and used an onion as I'd peeled and diced it before realising it wasn't needed. We all loved it and made three extra little portions for freezer.

An additional bonus was Barney adored the leftover milk from poaching the fish. He loves milk and fish so it was only right to let him have the 'fishy milk' lol.

Thumbs (and paws) up from us for this recipe xxx

I've never tried it with mixed fish but it's always worth a try!

Sounds yummy! I've never done fish pie with salmon - always use cod or haddock.
One trick I do use though is always to poach the fish in milk and then use that milk to make the white or cheese sauce for the pie. It makes the sauce really yummy, particularly if you're using a mixture of normal and smoked fish!
Will try my pie with salmon next week.

I want to try this but may use cod or haddock, none of us like salmon despite my best attempts to keep trying it as I know it's so healthy but I guess any fish is better than none. We are really bad for eating fish in this house. Is it very strong tasting with the salmon? Have tried other salmon recipes on Finlay and he just licks it and refuses!
