I saw this on hairy bikers the other night and made them last night and they were fab!
I made a few changes to the recipe though and I will point them out as we go
Mince beef Pinwheels:
Ingredients:
1 packet puff pastry (500g)
500g mince
2 red chillies (chopped) (I didnt add for the kids)
1 grated onion (I finely chopped it)
I also added-
1 Tbsp plain flour
1 Tbsp of tom puree
1 tsp garlic puree (or one clove crushed)
2 tsp of fresh parsley (chopped)
2 tsp of fresh coriander(chopped)
1/2 tsp dried Basil
1/2 tsp dried rosemary
1/2 dried thyme
salt and pepper
egg wash for pastry
I softened the chopped onion in a frying pan and added the tom and garlic puree and cooked until clear (5-6 mins on a low heat) then leave to cool for a few mins.
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl with the mince and onions (except the egg).
Spread the mix over the whole sheet of puff pastry leaving a space along the
top.
Starting at the bottom, roll the pastry up tightly.
Seal the edge with egg wash.
Slice into 12 wheels.
Place onto baking parchment and bake for 20 minutes at 200
They turned out very nicely, the kids loved them and OH went back for 3rds... greedy pants
These would freeze well too as long as you lay them flat on grease proof paper then bag them
