My dad used to make this for my eldest two and us kids til he passed away. We are all 1/2 Italian.
This is the first baby meal traditionally given little ones in Italy: "la prima pappa." This just may guarantee no picky eaters at the table in years to come.
* Chop peeled carrot and peeled potato. After bringing to a boil on medium high heat, simmer vegetables slowly in water, uncovered, for about one hour on low heat.
* After one hour, filter the broth through a strainer. It should be reduced. Pour into a bowl.
* Add pureed vegetables or meats. Or if your adult etc add what you wish ^_^
* Serve with a little olive oil and grated parmesan.
This first meal for babies is quite gourmet and as an extra bonus, maybe your child will always love soups and stews.
