Default lamb broth

We often have odd bits of lamb on the bone from our butchers to use up and I make this soup with it... it has a real homely taste and we all love it. You can also use left over lamb bone from a Sunday roast.

Meaty lamb bones
One or two carrots, grated
One or two turnips grated
Big potato grated
Onion chopped
Handful of pearl barley
Bit of turmeric
Pinch black pepper
Lamb stock cube

Put lamb and bones in pan, cover with water, bring to boil and remove any scum.
Add everything else and season to taste, boil and then simmer about an hour and half. Remove bones - the meat should be lovely and soft.

Hope you like it
