Well, I love Marmite (and think it has magical properties for getting rid of leg cramps at night!), my husband hates it, so I'll try it on the offspring and see which camp she falls into.
If she hates it will obviously see it as a complete betrayal x

For those of you interested in the sugar/aspartame debate, there is a good thread on here started by ladybug, i'll find it later but in the meantime search asparteme and should find it, your'll be surprused what its in...ribinsons low sugar squash, diet coke etc x

i have just read that thread Sarah, thanks. i am freaking myself out now, never really knew about the whole Aspartame thing and always thought i was doing the right thing buying the no added sugar squash....how wrong could i be. she hasn't wanted to drink water for the last year and has been having squash (very diluted) . well what is done is done, at least i know now and can make sure i buy the right stuff going forwards and when Abbie decides she won't drink water anymore (which i am hoping is a long time off) i can do it right from the start with her.

on the sweetener issue - i buy rocks organic squash which is delicious and although has sugar there's no nasties. a little goes along way too so whilst expensive it lasts a while. and dd loves it. ds not getting any till he's at least 3 (i'm hoping).

btw - i am totally disgusted with the sheer mention of something so deplorable as marmite being mentioned in the same thread concerning something soooooooooooooooo utterly lovely as innocent smoothies. i am appalled! shame on you all.

Can't stand marmite either.

But back to the smoothies, Finlay used to have one every day, doesn't at the mo cos I can't afford them!!!!!! I don't see anything wrong with it, I've totally chilled about these things now cos on the whole he has a very well balanced diet. And on the Aspartame thing, it freaked me out too for ages, wouldn't let him have fruit shoots or anything but have gone back again he has them so rarely I'm not really going to worry about it, I think if it was something he was having for every drink every day then that's when it's a problem xx
