Won't eat potatoes!
I can't get Murrin (2 years) to eat potatoes, tried everything, mashed, boiled, roasted, waffles, wedges. She will eat chips, I'm making her homemade oven chips, any ideas on how to get her to eat potatoes again, she loved them up until about 6 months ago!

i've given up trying to get him to eat them i do put them on his plate some times and he will try them but still say he does not like them
i just give him extra veg instead off potatoes
i really wouldn't worry to much just keep offering her them every now and then

Molly hasn't eaten potatoes since she was tiny. Like you I've tried them in every way, shape & form but still no! Occasionally she'll eat chips but only if we go to a certain pub that serve 'curly fries', she'll eat it if it's in something like fishcakes though. I wouldn't worry, keep offering and she'll eat them if & when she's ready.

Hi, My son now 21 months has never liked them. I was concerned about him not eating enough carbs so give him rice and pasta as an alternative, but this is getting boring and he is now turning his nose up at rice!

Hi, my lo now 3 yrs went through a phase of this a while back esp with mashed potato, and yes, she loved the chips still! I still put potato on her plate but made sure our week was really varied with rice, pasta, cous cous so she only had them a couple of times a week. She would happily eat the others and eventually she started eting them again and now her fave is jacket potato. xxxx

Have only just joined this site so bear with me.
My Son aged 4 has never eaten potatoes or rice. except as chips or homemade fish pie. He used to eat Pasta but won't touch it now apart from spaghetti hoops and then only the shaped ones.
My 2 1/2 year old daughter however eats absolutely everything, potatoes in every shape and form, loves all pasta, risotto etc ... curries you name it !!!!
He does however eat most meat in particular forms and most vegetables so I guess he's ok. It took me 3 weeks to get him to eat peas and carrots by just putting them on his plate every day till he just ate them. A proud moment !!!

Freddie won't eat pots or rice either. very rarely he'll eat mash on a cottage pie, or if its really creamy & cheesy. did for a while eat smileys, but now won't & also croquettes, but not now. last night though made sautes & he ate the lot (did put some vinegar on them & some salt). only carbs Freddie gets is bread & pasta.

My almost 3 year old actually can't eat potatoes as he is allergic to them! He hasn't had them since he was about 18 months old when we found out and it doesn't cause us any problemas at all. He loves bread and pasta (but wont touch rice any more) and just has extra vegetables at every meal.

Grant can be funny with plain potatoes or mash so I tend to put some veg in with the mash to give it some extra flavour. I still have some frosen mashed turnip, peas and broccoli in the freezer from weaning so I just add some of that.
When we eat out most places add cream and salt to the mash so it has more flavour so he will eat it.

Eve won't eat spuds either, apart from baked and smothered in butter and beans or in a stew. Discovered recently that she will eat new potatoes from the garden - I guess they're sweeter than normal ones...
Have you tried sweet potato? It goes down a lot better here but to be honest any starchy carb is a bit of a struggle, even toast. She fills up on Readybrek or weetabix for breakfast and will eat brown bread and bananas so I don't worry too much! x
