Default 1 year old who wont eat lumps

Hi

Just wondered if there was anyone out there who could give me some advice. I have 1 year old girl who just wont eat anything with lumps. If any of her food does have lumps she repeatedly spits them out? Is there anyone who has been in a similar position?

Does she eat finger foods?

Mixed consistancy foods are the hardest for them to get used to, does she eat mashed foods?

Hi,

Mashed food isnt such a struggle as lumpy food. She will eat beef cassserole and bolognese if its mashed up. She is quite good with finger food she likes bacon, ham, cheese, cracker biscuits. Thank you for your reply.

Default lumps or no lumps!!!

Hi, Don't worry about it. My son is 3 now but when he was 1 he did'nt like lumpy food and is still not a great eater where as my daughter has just turned 1 and eats pretty much anything you give her!!! They all do things at their own pace. I used to think as long as my pureed food was healthy and nutritious it did'nt matter how lumpy it was!!! love Karen x

ah the joys of lumps!Nathan is a year old and he used to sieve lumps through and push them out of his mouth - lots of fun especially when you've gone to all the effort of making smth tasty. I've started to chop the veg and meat very finely- half sweetcorn size- and then cook it. Then if it seems too lumpy i blend half of it. It seems to work but he still does the occassional spray Great she is eating so much finger food. Does she like fruit puree? How about chop up lots of apple and pear into fine chewable bits, then stew. In another pan stew bigger bits and puree these once cooked. Mix both textures together. You may find the sweet lumps really get her? Nathan went throught phase of only eating some meals with mashed banana mixed in - it must have been the texture..funny little creatures we were!
