Wig-lar is infamous around these parts
Default Is it ok to give LO sugar before 1yr old?

Hi everyone, I've just baked the Annabel Karmel banana muffin recipe and my LO loves them, however I now feel a bit paranoid after a friend told me she read that you shouldn't give babies sugar until after 1yr? In my opinion its a bit of common sense in that I wouldn't stuff my LO with muffins all day long and clearly its ok as the recipe in the book is for 10-12 months... but now I'm a bit concerned!! Help!!

There is no problem with the odd muffin here and there. You should avoid giving babies lots of extra sugar but you can never avoid it all together. There are naturally occurring sugars in fruit and even veggies as well as in milk and of course some yoghurts are loaded with the stuff. The aim is not to put a load into their diet unnecessarily.
