Personally I just buy plain Greek yoghurt and mix in my own fruit or if I am buying a flavoured yoghurt I try and find one with a low percentage of added sugar as I really don't like that most fruit yoghurts contain more sugar than fruit. We never bothered with children's yogurts.

We use the Petit Filo ones, flavoured and plain, they are a hit in our house

Default meal plan for 7 months baby

Hi i m just woundering if i m doing well with my baby meals, I m from romania, and my pedtrician did helped that much with advices, i m using annabel books to guide.
So here is our routine: 7am 200ml milk(formula)
10 am cereals (1 sp + 100 ml milk +50-60 g fruits) i use organix cereals
13/14 pm vegetables about 150g, some days i introduce about 30g meat , too
16/17 pm vegetables again about 150g, or i used to give him cottage cheese( here in romania is called lactic cheese , i made it my self home from 1l milk i add 8 tablets calcium lactic and it comes like 180g of cheese,(3 meals), so somedays i give him 60g cheese(+ 50-60 g fruits.
19.30 200ml milk
he wakes up sometimes during the night arround 1-2 for another bottle, but usually he sleeps all night.
I forgot to mention that we started weaning at 4.5 mounths with baby rice for 2 weeks, than from 5 months i introduced him veggies, carrot, sweet patatoes, ets
Do you think this is ok ? shoul i keep going with this schedule?
I also noticed another problem since we started with food, he s mouth smells. doctors here said it is from his stomac/liver, some food it s not digested and that the reason for this smell, what do you think? did you met anyone this problem ?
thanks so much, regards, claudia

I assume in addition to the meals your LO is still having bottles throughout the day. For the first year it is important not to cut back on the milk unless your LO does so themselves even though they are now having solids as well. Don't worry too much about weighing out quantities jsut let you LO have what they want as generally babies won't overeat. You could probably start introducing finger foods as well at this stage.

hi, thanks for answer me back, no he s having just the 2 bottles of milk , in the morning and evening 400 ml in total +100ml i use with cereals and cheese i m making 60g =300ml milk.so it s about 800ml a day, do you think i should give him 1-2 botles between meals, too?
he was having 5 botles a day 150-180ml, but the peditrician here said that i should replace bottles with fruits ,veggies, so i did that i replaced the bottles from 10am,13 and 17 pm.

The norm here is to supplement the bottles with solids because it is felt that milk remains the most important source of nutrition till baby is 12 months old. With older babies it is normal for them to cut back on their milk intake but they will still get plenty of dairy through foods.
