Must admit my lo didnt get crisps until well after a year old. You would be surprised by how much salt etc is in them, which is not good for a baby.
Raisins was (and still is) a firm favourate as is banana.

Maybe get a book from the library to get some ideas. I know this is an AK site, but apart from the AK books, one i found really good was Finger Foods for Babies and Toddlers - had lots of really good ideas that my wee one loved.

Defintiely keep trying with as much as you can. Sounds as if he's possibly beginning to learn how to get what he prefers. You'd be surprised as how quickly they can learn to push your buttons and get what they want even at that young age so if it's crisps he want and he discovers that if he doesn't eat anything else he'll get them he'll probably stick to doing that. But if he learns that if he doesn't eat what he's given that he still isn't getting crisps then it might work out better and he might go back to eatin things again. It might mean a few frustrating days but it's well worth it if you can stick with it. I definitely would agree with the idea of trying to give him the crisps as a treat rather than as a meal.

Oh and as well as looking up stuff in your local library maybe use the search function on the forums to look up threads related to finger food. I did this in the past and found loads of useful ideas for things to give my LO that I'd never have thought of giving him.
