Get some slightly stale bread, stick it in a blender and blitz away till you get them as fine as you want. If it's not too crusty you can throw crusts and all in.

i toast it if bread is a little fresh or use stale bread and whiz in blender. can also jazz them up a bit by adding pinch of garlic granules or paprika or parmesan cheese depending on what you are doing.

same as others, if you have bread you would usually throw out blitz it up and freeze the crumbs in a freezer bag, you can just rub off what you need

just wondering has anyone made breadcrumbs out of french baguette before? we quite often don't finish a whole one of these if we get one at the weekend or something for lunch and i always find they are no good even just a day later (well only good for feeding the ducks). should have thought to make breadcrumbs out of it.

I use baguettes for breadcrumbs sometimes Anna, never had a problem.

I agree they are rank the next day, such a waste

if doing a baguette or fresh crusty loaf, you can use a cheese grater rather than dig out the blender.

Also rather than toast slices, you can blitz the bread then pop in the open for a few minutes on a baking tray!
