Default Salmon Footballs

Hi All,

Here is another new forum we have created to get some yummy recipe ideas out in the open that you are cooking for your Babies/Toddlers.

I have found this delicious Salmon Football recipe in Annabel’s Complete Baby & Toddler meal planner. I love these because you can make them for your child, but then if you are having a Christmas party this year and need to serve a canapé for friends and family then this would make a perfect little canapé! (You would have to season it up a bit to make it a little tastier! put some salt and black pepper into the breadcrumb mix that coats the salmon, and maybe a hint of cayenne to make it a little spicy!! Then serve it with a nice sweet chilli sauce or soya sauce)

Salmon Footballs

Enjoy, and I can not wait to see what delicious recipes you have been cooking up for your little ones!!

Fred xx

I saw this in the book too and am keen to make it for my almost 9month old, along with chicken and apple balls- my son seems to prefer finger foods atm rather than spoon feeding. I noticed in the book it said they were freezeable? But was wondering what the best way to defrost/heat them back up would be? I like having stocks of lunches/dinners frozen for him save cooking for ages at every meal. My son loves all AK recipes, atm his faves are spag bol, salmon in a creamy chive sauce and chicken casserole, I would have been lost without the complete baby meal planner!

Hi there, I made the salmon footballs and my 10-month-old son loves them (so do I, they're pretty tasty!) I froze a whole batch of them, and if I don't have time to fry them I simply pop them in the oven straight from frozen. It takes about 10-20 mins at 180C (I add an extra one to test).

I love the meal planner book and have made all my son's meals from it since he started on solids. I live in South Africa so we can't get any of the products here, but there's a growing fan base of the book!

I make these too - although I do them in a pattie shape rather than a football shape. I prepare them and cook them uncooked then either oven cok them from frozen or fry them in a tiny bit of oil over v. low heat till done. they also work really well with barbeque sauce added instead of the sweet chilli sauce.
