Default Fussy eater

Hi guys

Ive got a question with regards to my LO, she's 6 1/2 months and i started weaning at 5, but she was ill and stopped eating food for about 2 weeks. She's back to eating again, but what I'm having difficulty is getting her to eat food that isnt sweet, i give her pouches of food, and then i make the recipe myself.

So does any one have advice, shell eat veg as long as its sweet or got fruit in it, loves cheese and yoghurts, but every time i try chicken(sweet or not ) she won't eat it? and hates lumps

Ive got friends with babes who started at same time, and there babies are a lot further on ?

They all get there at their own pace. There is no problem mixing sweet and savoury, just keep trying savoury on it's own from time to time and let her get back to it herself when she wants to. Many babies go through phases of prefering and eating only either sweet or savoury.

Similarly for the lumps she will get there when she is ready. Offering finger foods can help babies get used to chewing and dealing with larger pieces of food.

Don't cmpare your LO to others (hard and all as that is to do). Just relax and let her get their at her own pace. Some babies wean early and are eating three full meals and all around them by six months. Others don't start weaning till six months and don't gezt to that stage till a lot later. For now it's all about learning, not really about nutrition (that's what milk is for during the first year) so just offer lots of variety and let your LO get there when she is ready.
