Default Fruit juice and babies

How safe is it to give your baby fruit juice as a substitute for water?

My little boy is 6 months old adamantly refuses to drink water. He has had diluted fruit juices before but spits them out just like he does to water, and I wouldn't dream of feeding him pure fruit juice without diluting it.

He has just started on solids, and I have been told to give him water or diluted juice at every meal, but he just won't take it.

Also, what is the best fruit jiuce to give your baby to drink? From concentrate or other? Thanks.

I would avoid the juice all together as once you start it it is a very hard habit to break. It can take some babies a long time to get used to water, but it is best to just keep offering as long term it is a much healthier and better alternative to getting them used to drinking lots of juice. Let him play with a spill proof sippy cup inbetween meals so he can get the hang of using it and can get used to taking water.
