Default Cows Milk Intolerance

Hi my baby has just been diagnosed with an intolerance to cows milk so her regular milk has been changed! I was just wondering if anyone else has had a baby who suffers with this?? & if so can they give me any advice... Is any product with milk going to effect her should i keep away from petti flious yoghurts aswell??

Thanks

I don't have any direct experience myself but I know from a couple of friends that if she is intolerant to cows milk then you will need to stay away from all dairy (milk, yoghurt, cheese, etc). Depending on the severity of the condition you may also need to avoid any other products that contain milk (baked good, pre-prepared fods etc.). Do you know if she is just lactose intolerant or whether she has a full milk allergy ?

Im not to sure yet how bad it is she suffers with reflux but she was still having v.bad problems getting her wind up & would be crying at night in pain so the doctor has just changed her milk to the nutramigen milk its only been a few day but there is some difference already! I gave her a petti flious 4 tea the other evening & we had an awful night with her so I am thinking now this triggered her off again! Is there a test they can do to see if she is lactose intolerant or if it a full milk allergy??

Thank You

I'm sure that they can test for the difference, but I think that dairy allergy is a lot more common in babies than lactose intolerance. Many will grow out of it, you just need to stick to the dairy free plan for now so you are best to stay away from all dairy. That pretty much means no yoghurts, cheese or milk or products containing them.
