Default 7 Month Old Hates Vegetables!!

Hi

Can anyone help? I started weaning a month ago. Started with vegetables and then after a couple of weeks, introduced fruit at breakfast. Now my baby won't accept vegetables that he was fine with before. He just closes his mouth and starts crying at carrot, potato, parsnip, swede - you name it. Any advice?? Is this normal??

Perfectly normal! Why don't you try mixing veg with fruit? I'm sure others will come up with good combinations - it's been a while since I weaned the girls!

Try mixing in apple and pear with the veg - they go with pretty much any of them. Sweet potato is another good sweet veg to use.

Are you pureeing or BLW? If pureeing, I'd try adding a few other bits and bobs with it or perhaps the sweeter veggies like sweet potato or carrot. perhaps on their own they're not exciting enough for him now?

How about lentils? there's a lovely recipe in AK's books for red lentils and mine luuurvs it.

I also just thought - a week or so ago he really did clam up and seemed completely disinterested until I tried a bit more variety. Apparently this is completely normal so perhaps yours is at this stage?
