Default Newbie :)

Hello everyone!

Need some advice on weaning, would be really grateful for some advice.
My little boy Zac is now 6 1/2 months, he is in a great routine and a very happy baby. He has 600ml of milk daily and three meals consisting of breakfast, lunch and tea. However I am unsure of how much solid food I should be feeding him?!

Any advice would be great

Liv x

Thumbs up feeding for 6mnth +

hi liv,

my boy is 6 months and he tends to have between 3-4 meals if you find that your baby is more hungry then I would go for it and introuduce another meal I find however that I try and at least feed him 2 hours before bedtime and usually something light like fruit or rice so that he doesnt get to upset hope it helps

When I was weaning my LO I pretty much gave him whatever amount he wanted to eat, so if one day all he wanted for a meal was a spoonful of veggies that's all he got, if he wanted a small bowlful the next day I would let him have it. I stuck to 3 meals a day as I didn't want to introduce snacks into his routine (and we still have very few of those 2 years on). The main thing to make sure at that age is that they still get their milk as it remains their most important food source till they are 1.

If your LO is happy and healthy (and it sounds as if he is) then you are doing just fine.
