Default Protein or Carbs

Can somebody please shed some light on the whole protein/carb balance. I follow the Gina Ford routines but get my recipe ideas from Annabel. However, I am a little confused when to feed protein and when to feed carbs? Gina Ford states that babies should be fed protein at lunch and carbs at tea. I find the carbs at tea very tricky as I find this quite limiting. Since moving on from baby rice and sweet potato at night and moving on to a carb meal such a jacket potato with cheese and beans my baby wakes up at night. Can anybody shed any light please? Also, what does everycody think about puddings in the evening or should this just be at lunch?

Regards,

Laura

I personally don't take any notice of that sort of thing. My son has 3 main meals. He may or may not have a snack or two depending on whether he wants one or not. We rarely do pudding in our house, but if we do it's after our dinner (regardless of whether that is mid day or evening).

As to what he eats when, well I really don't give it a second's notice. Breakfast is usual fruit and cereals. The other two meals are whatever, but I defintely don't seperate carbs and protein.

I have heard of adults doing some sort of food seperating thing on some sort of diet, but I don't see the need for it myself.
