tbh Cindy I don't think you would be doing your LO any favours by introducing the net holder at this stage. It sounds as if he is well able for finger food and you would really only be taking a step backwards. Similarly taking the rice cake off him because it has gotten soggy isn't the best of ideas. He needs to learn to eat these tihngs, not jsut suck on them for a bit of flavour and he sounds as if he is well able to be eating them.

You'd be surprised how easily children will cough up those bits of food that go down the wrong way, it sounds scary when they start to gag but most of the time they clear it in seconds themselves and are off laughing and taking the next big bite in the blink of an eye.

Are there any first aid courses available to you where you could learn to deal with choking. Perhaps if you had some training in what to do then you would not be as stressed out about it.
