Hi all I am new to this forum/website and wondered if anyone could help? My 8 and a half month old loves her solids and is doing well (loves Ak's recipies - I bought one of the books) but she will not take breakfast. She gets up at 8000 and will not take milk or solids ) 2 spoons). Gets bottle at 10 30 (8oz) then solids at 1300 then bottle at 1530 then solids at 1800 and bottle at 2000 then bed.
I have tried porridge, rusks, yoghurt, fruit any ideas?? |

hi and welcome. breakfast is biggest prob for me too. you have my sympathy. what if you didn't give bottle at 10.30am? and bring lunch forward to say 12pm. it may have the knock on effect on her realising she needs something first thing - they are very clever little individuals and if she knows she'll be getting something i.e. bottle at 10.30am maybe she's holding out. may sound far fetched but never underestimate the powers of a 8month old - i know i have one. my problem is my son will eat breakfast but won't have a bottle in the morning or vice versa - but to me breakfast is most important as my daughter who is 3 next week (soooooooooo excited) struggles with breakfast and only wants milk. don't know if much help. alternatively she may just start eating - they can change from one week to the next. good luck

Thanks for the advice. I have tried not giving a bottle at 10 30 but that proves to give a difficult morning wrt tears!!
I haven't tried letting her feed herself so might give that a go.She certainly has a mind of her own but hey thats healthy!! Thanks ![]() |
