Default Feeling anxious...

I'm feeling really quite anxious now about this labour.

My friend had her second recently and told me that she didn't really pick up on her labour starting and subsequently had only about 2 hours between realising and the actual birth happening. Now, I realise that sounds lovely but my first port of call for looking after Isabelle is my brother who's about an hour away - help! I do have people closer who would look after her in the interim but I'm not sure how I'd feel if I had to call on them in the middle of the night

I'm finding myself hoping that my waters break like last time so I at least know for sure that things are imminent.

I'm thinking it could happen any time now, Isabelle was born at about this point and I'm so uncomfortable and big - arghhh!

Is there any way you could go stay withwith your brother for a bit? Would make life easier for you and would be a nice way of 'settling in' for Isabelle too. Means you're where you need to be iykwim.

Hope you figure something out, you don't need extra worries or stresses at this stage hon xxx

I'm sure if you had to call on people in the night they'd understand! I've already told my brother & SIL that they'll be on 24hr call . I've asked them to come and stay here with Ethan so it's not too out of the ordinary for him when things kick off.

Try not to worry about what 'might' happen, easier said than done I know, and have as many people on stand by as you can. Will your brother be coming to you to look after Isabelle? That might be easier than a 2 hour round trip in labour?

My waters broke with Ethan and it was reassuring to have a sign like that so I can see where you're coming from.

Whatever happens on the day, these things have a way of working themselves out.

(((((((Hugs))))))))

Hugs Nicki, I would be anxious too. I know though that if a friend of mine had to call in the middle of the night to help out I wouldn't mind one bit though, people would understand, but realise it would be strange for Isabelle and you prob don't want things to be any more unsettling for her than they have to be.

Like Ellie H says if your brother can come to you that would be better.

Hope you manage to sort something.

A xxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks for your reassurances ladies. My brother will be coming to us and he was down here a few weeks ago so Isabelle is very familiar with Uncle Darren! I wasn't allowed to do anything when he was here

I've just been for lunch at an old workplace and an old friend there said if I needed someone to sit in the house in the middle of the night until he arrives she'd be very willing. She has grown up children which feels more comfortable than my other friend who is on stand-by here - her son is Isabelle's age and she's 7 months pregnant! I know I can count on her during the day but in the middle of the night it feels like a very different thing!

The twinges and tightenings are becoming more frequent and I don't think (hope) things are too far off happening!
