Default Booking Appointment

Had my booking appointment with my new midwife this afternoon and was patronised for a whole half hour. Hmph.

The team of midwives who look after me aren't connected to the hospital I have chosen so her answer to half the questions were 'I don't know what goes on there, they don't tell us anything. If you were having your baby here.......'. Grrrrrrrr.

I was told at my last scan that the hospital I have chosen offers nuchal scans but my midwife told me I'd have to pay privately and wasn't aware that they were being offered by my hospital as they 'didn't tell her anything'. She told me to find out myself next week at my scan and let her know the policy instead of attempting to ring the hospital. FFS try communicating then! I had Ethan at the same hospital amd my last midwife didn't seem to have a problem with communication skills!

Thankfully my care is going to be consultant led (I have issues LOL) so I will have some appointments at my chosen hospital where I might actually get some answers!

Rant over!

She just sounds rubbish and like she can't be bothered.

My community mw has just changed, has gone from a very efficient one (who always had her appointments on time, well within about 5 mins) to sitting around waiting for an appointment that was an hour late last week. And I had poor Isabelle with me cos she was off nursery sick. She was very nice but just a bit 'pathetic'. Luckily that'll probably be my last appointment before the event, esp as I have a consultant appt at 36 weeks.

Mind you, consultant appts have a whole other set of issues......

She was probs pee'ed off thatit wasn't a straight forward hand-you-notes-stamp-book case. Jeez, it must be so annoying when mothers-to-be differ, mustn't it? Like need different care or information.

When I was preg with Evie we moved so I was seeing a new midwife but still planned to give birth at my old local hospital. The ante-natal midwife was great, but after having Evie the midwives at the hospital were a bit like yours. Where I live now they don't give babies vitamin K, but at the hospital I gave birth at, they do give vitamin K> They acted like I was such a huge hassle, going on about costs etc. Luckily I was too busy in my state of elation/pain to take much notice
