I had Georgia in Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow. I dont know what the aftercare is like as she was prem and in NICU so I didn't spend much time on the ward, only to eat and sleep. They were fab when I was in labour and the staff in NICU were fab too. No complaints and due back there again for this one xxxx

I had mine at James Cook, Middlebrough. They were great during labour - I was never left alone no matter how much i protested! I did have the lovely moment when trying to push the first twin out where I closed my eyes with 2 midwives in the room and opened them to an enthusiastic crowd of 20-25 people!
Both twins had major probs during delivery and the staff were amazingly calm. I lost 2litres of blood and Thomas' heart stopped in theatre but i was none the wiser due to their professionalism (and maybe the drugs too!!!). When the going got tough they respected my desire to try to avoid a c-section and when none of the midwives/doctors/registrars/consultants were able to delivery the twins naturally they brought another consultant in early for me. However, the aftercare was pretty bad - I was in a shared ward in the smallest area trying to shuffle around my tiny space with twins, whereas the other beds with mothers with 1 baby had tons of space. I really struggled with trying to give them EBM and got very little help and when my baby blues hit and both babies were crying and I couldn't sooth them so then i started crying too, after a couple of hours I was kindly advised to 'get over it'! On discharge I wasn't checked over despite the midwife ticking that I had been and the community midwife discovered my stitches had burst and episiotomy had then torn even more. Sorry to rant but the aftercare was so disappointing after great care on the labour ward. |

Bassetlaw Hospital, Nottinghamshire. I had a really pleasant time (as pleasant as can be).
![]() I was in the hospital at 29 weeks with bleeding due to low-lying placenta and was there nearly ev. other week thereafter. When I was 3 days overdue I was in a car accident and they checked me over and the same midwife I saw then was the one to start me out with my induction at 42 weeks. After my daughter was deliverd all of the 3 midwives that were with me during my induction, labour and delivery came to visit us at bedside. I'd highly recommend them and they were listed as one of the top 5 in the country - I can see why. |
