My best friend breast fed her son while pregnant. Sadly she had to stop when she lost her baby at 7 months and went into hospital and her milk dried up, her son was 16 months then. She was assured it had nothing to do with why her baby died. The only advice was too make sure she has an extra 500 cals a day if she was to carry on bearst feeding while pregannt. Apparently the taste of milk changes when pregnant as natures way of weaning the older baby off, but clearly doesnt put off some babies. If unsure check with your midwife, beth xxxx

Hi Kathryn! Jack was only 9 1/2 mths and still b/f when we found out we were expecting Oliver. I carried on b/f him until I was about 5 mths pregnant as he was quite reluctant to give up his beloved boobies. Would have weaned him off sooner but just didn't have the energy whilst in the throws of morning sickness! All went well and Jack wasn't bothered in the slightest to see Oliver b/f a few months later. As Beth said, just make sure you take on board a few hundred extra calories as your body is working doubly hard.

Beth, sorry your friend lost her baby when she was so far into her pregnancy- must have been very hard to deal with.
