I would make sure you use a paint with no VOC's otherwise i wouldn't do it. x

I think it depends on the paints. If it's a water based, solvent free one then you should be fine as long as you keep the place well ventilated, but stop if you feel anyway ill. If it has any solvent in it you should avoid it, get someone else to do the work and stay away from the area being painted till it has dried and there are no more fumes.

Personally I didn't do it when I was expecting - even though I was itching to (I actually enjoy painting and am really particular about the finish) and we were using a solvent free paint. I was fine about it but hubbie wouldn't let me - just in case, and insited I put my feet up instead. So I did.
