I have type 1 diabetes, and had no diabetic complications with Lauren (she was prem and in scbu but not for anything related). Some hospitals like to induce at 38 weeks because babies can get very big. However if you have only just been diagnosed and where you are in your pregnancy I would not say this is a certainty at all. Really depends on lots of factors.
I was due to be induced at 38 weeks but unrelated complications meant she came at 35 weeks .
Dont panic it's not the end of the world and as you get bigger your need to reduce your blood sugar increases, hence why they have put you on insulin for one part of the day.
I had a really healthy pregnancy and well controlled blood sugars for the most part, just had to increase the insulin where needed adn Lauren was no bigger than any other baby on any of the scans.
Certain foods work better than others in reducing your sugars, and it might be what you are eating that is causing the higher readings at lunchtime (doesn't have to be sugar related foods). Did they give you dietician advise.
Got to rush to work but if I can help at all, let me know xx
