How to tell toddler abt birth...

Rhys realises theres a baby in my tummy and today I said I would in hospital for a day or two "when we get the baby" and he can come see me there with daddy and am trying to get him used to the idea he might have to stay overnight with grandparents (never been apart from me and only 1 night apart from hubby when he was away with work)

But am waiting for the "how does baby get out" question or "how do we get the baby"...

Any advice in advance on what to say? He hasnt asked how baby got there so maybe he will just accept that I go to hospital "to get the baby"!!!!

Max never asked! Not much help am i lol!!

We just sort of concentrated on his visit to the hospital afterwards that i dont think it entered his head to ask how baby got out of mu tummy!!

Maybe I wont get asked either! Just saying "I have to go to hospital to get the baby" is like saysing I have to go to Tesco to get a loaf of bread!!!

We got the "How did the baby get in there" question today from our 4 yr old!
I said "God's love", "but how?" she replied, very inquisitive! I'll have to think of better answer. What would you say?

There are books to deal with this delicate subject! Saw illustrations of one on tv, bit too graphic for my liking! 4 yr old asked OH about marriage today too. On hearing OH's response she declared she wanted to marry her brother!!

Yeh, I was worried books might be a bit too detailed for my liking too esp if they do the how the baby got there!

Oliver never asked, he just presumed that when we went to hospital the doctor got baby out & gave it to mummy & then when baby woke up he could come see us & take us home so we went along with him & didn't elaborate.

i just told finley baby come out off my tummy was happy with that till i had fraser then asked if he come out of my mouth

just told me he come out off mummy's lady garden was happy with

freddies been asking alot about this lately, i just told him a baby comes out of the ladies privates, & that Dr's help at the hospital. he replied "but its too small", i said yes is it!. he was worried that a baby came out of your mouth coz it was growing in your tummy. also he was thinking a baby would come out of his willy. i think the truth was less worrying to him.
