Default HiPG - £190 tax free if you are due on or after 6 April 09

Hi all

Not sure if this has already been on here but I read today on Martin's Money Tips and the Government website linked to below that those women 25 weeks pregnant or more and due on or after 6th April 09 can claim a one of grant paid by the government of £190 (tax free!) - this is NOT means tested so anyone meeting the criteria above is eligible.

The website says ...

"Get a claim form from your midwife or doctor any time from 1 January 2009 onwards - as long as you're at least 25 weeks pregnant and your expected delivery date is on or after 6 April 2009. Your midwife or doctor must fill in their part of the form and sign it before giving it to you.

You will need to get your claim form to HMRC within 31 days of your midwife or doctor signing the form - otherwise you may miss out on the grant."

See the link below for further info and to apply.

I posted about this here back in December .

I was told when I saw the consultant that the midwife should give me my forms to send off when I have my next appointment.

Hi Matildas mum - yeah I love Martin, so many useful tips!

Ellie, apologies, I tried to do a search to see if it had already been on but couldn't find it. I think this is a fab idea - a bit more in the pot for baby shopping or to help mums to be pay for the right foods to keep them healthy - lovely

No need to apologise!

It's great that people want to pass on the message so mums to be get what they're entitled to!
