How exciting! I am jealous, wish it was me. Great that you have a decent amount of time off before the bubba is due.

I finished two weeks before Jake was due/born (born on due date) and that was OK but next time (if we are that lucky) I would def take longer. Saving/using annual leave is a great idea. x

I left at 37 weeks with Ethan. Luckily this time the new year for my annual leave starts on April 1st. By law, as of Oct 2008, you now accrue your full holiday entitlement while on maternity leave (it used to be a set the statutory minimum of 4.8 weeks), which means I can tag alot of my entitlement on the beginning and still have a bit left for when I return next February.

There's lots of great info on your maternity rights on the Direct Gov site .

Roll on April 7th!

Oooo Ellie I bet you can't wait! I had a month of before my EDD and then was 2 weeks overdue!

I'll have no such luck this time as I work for hubby now - he'll have me working right up until they tell me to push!

I finished 2 weeks before I was due then Meg was 4 days late. Loved every minute of it but couldn't sit still in those 2 weeks as was so used to be moving about because of work etc. Make sure you get plenty of rest Ellie xxxx

I'm lucky with my work that I get the full annual leave entitlement already, when I had Jess I had a month off before she was born and then went back to work just after her first birthday, can't wait to finish this time.

Can you carry annual leave over as well, I can carry 5 days into next year entitlement xx
