Default White Chocolate Buttercream Recipes please

Anyone got a tried and tested white chocolate buttercream recipe? Been searching the internet and there are so many variations. Theres one that says to put double cream or whipping cream in, but surely that will be a little runny? I want to fill and cover a cake with it! thank you ladies xxx

this is for white chocolate fudge frosting & is a little runny but very yummy.
(makes enough to cover 12 cupcakes)

200g white chocolate (chopped)
5 tbsp milk
175g icing sugar

1; put the choc & milk in a heatproof bowl & set over a pan of simmering water until melted, stirring frequently.

2; remove bowl from pan & stir in icing sugar until smooth. spread over cakes whilst still warm.

the other option I would use would be to make up a batch of buttercream & flavour it with white drinking chocolate.

That's what I do, although the result can vary depending on the quality of the drinking chocolate you use.

what do you use for that? something like the Options sachets you get, or is there something else?

mmmm i know, and Im joining Swimming World tonight! Not good!

Its my mums birthday saturday and yet again Im making a cake and she adores white chocolate so thats the reason for the white choc buttercream. Was thinking I would cover it with those white choc buttons that are covered with 100's and 1000's aswell.

Sounds lovely and will look pretty with the 100 and 1000 buttons! I've just read a recipe for milk chocolate buttercream which was just butter, icing sugar and 2oz of chocolate melted and whisked in, cant see why this wouldn't work but with white choc?

Good luck at SW tonight! x

I buy mine in a local chocolate shop so it's not one of the normal brands, it's a local Swiss one so not much help. It is like the options stuff though.
