Hi,
considering her head was small in relation to her height when she was born you'd think if they didn't worry then, why are they worrying now. Her head seems to be growing proportionally considering that 32cm starting circumference. Like Rachelmae said, i'm sure it's just routine and better to check things out than not i suppose although it doesn't stop us from worrying does it. Hope everything works out ok. xxx |

Big hugs xxxx doctors always make us worry
![]() When I took Chris for his 8 week check they measure his head circumference three times and came up with a different measurement each time... It does sound like she's just cute! |

It is important to look and see whether she is deviating from the curve she was on from birth till now. If she started out at small, then all is probably fine. If she started out normal or big and has now dropped down a centile then it should be checked out. (either way it does not hurt to check it out) Also, the same person should be measuring her each time cause like LB said, everyone measures a bit differently.
Hugs hun! |

I was going to say the same as noababy. If her head has always been small in proportion to her body I wouldn't worry at all. My friend's little boy had a large head in proportion to his body (from birth) and HV's always put the heebie jeebies up his mum but you only had to take one look at his Daddy to see it's just his genetics and in the words of my pal "all the blokes in the family have a head like a football"
Big ((hugs)) |

What is she on all the centile lines? If they are all roghly the same then you really should worry. My daughter is on around the 25th for everything including head and the consultant said that shows she all in proportion. Its easy to say dont worry but being a mummy we do! Let us know what they say

My sisters little boy is 2 months younger than Ollie and his head has been way below average since the beginning, he looks in proportion to me and the doctor says he is fine and that all babies are different.
I would follow the advice of the doctors but try not to let it worry you too much as I think that sometimes they worry you unnessasarily. |

thanks ladies for all your hugs and reasurrance, in answer to some of your questions her head has dipped from 2nd percentile at birth to not even registering on the chart this is the reason for the referral, she's on the 25th for her weight and the 50th for her length, she doesn't look out of proportion to me just long and slim (doesn't take after me unfortunately) a bit scary but if there was something horribly wrong i think i would know in my heart.
